María Langarita: architect

For us, she is undoubtedly the best architect of Spain.

Maria Langarita was born in 1979, Zaragoza (Spain). She studied at the University of Architecture of Navarra, and received her degree in Architecture in 2003, obtaining the First National End of Career Award.

María Langarita and Victor Navarro formed in 2005 the Langarita-Navarro architectural office, applying their imprint to very interesting projects such as Medialad-Prado in Madrid or the Red Bull Music Academy.

Some of her awards are:

• Arquitecto Emergente, Premio de Arquitectura Contemporánea de la Unión Europea.
• Mies van der Rohe 2013 por el proyecto de la Nave de Música.
• XII Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo por Medialab-Prado.
• FAD 2012 and Emerging Architecture Award 2012 por la intervención de la Nave de la Música dentro de Matadero Madrid.
• AD Heineken Award "Nuevos Valores 2013".
