Antonia Ferrin Moreiras: maths teacher and astronomer

She was born in a family with few resources, but her father, who was a math teacher, wanted his four daughters could have higher education.

Before the Civil War she graduated with a degree in Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Santiago de Compostela, and years later, in the Universidad Central de Madrid, now Complutense.

She was the first Spanish woman who defended a thesis on astronomy, in 1963.
